The ReviewPine app shows your Google reviews on your Shopify store. Everything happens inside your Shopify admin: no separate account, no code.

Set it up#

  1. In the Shopify App Store, search for ReviewPine and click Install.
  2. Open ReviewPine from Apps in your Shopify admin and choose your plan (it starts with a free trial).
  3. Connect your Google business. In Google Maps, open your business, click Share, then Copy link, and paste it into the app. Check the name and click Import reviews.
  4. Add the reviews block. On the app's Home page, click Open theme editor (or Show me how for step-by-step help). In the theme editor, click Add section, open the Apps tab and choose ReviewPine reviews.
  5. Make it yours. Click the block: its settings change the layout, colours, font, the "Review us on Google" button's text and colours, which reviews show and more (sliders move by themselves and pause when a visitor points at them), and the preview updates as you go. Drag it where you want it and click Save.

Different looks on different pages#

Every reviews block has its own settings. Add one to your home page as a slider and another to your product pages as a badge, for example. To change a block later, open the theme editor and click it.

A floating badge on every page#

The app also adds a Floating reviews badge: your Google rating in a corner of every page, opening all your reviews in a popup. In the app's Home, click Turn it on in the theme editor, or in the theme editor open App embeds (the icon in the left bar), turn on Floating reviews badge and click Save. Its settings choose the look (pill, card or classic), the corner and the colors.

Connected the wrong business?#

Open Business in the app, click Change business, paste the right business's Google Maps link and click Change to this business. Your plan, your reviews blocks and the floating badge stay as they are and show the new business. Changing back to a business you had before never counts, and its reviews usually come back straight away. You can change it a few times on your own; after that, email [email protected] and we'll add it for you.

Custom templates and older themes#

The block works on any page of a current Shopify theme, custom templates included: in the theme editor, choose the page or template from the menu at the top, click Add section, then Apps, then ReviewPine reviews.

Older (vintage) themes, and custom themes without a section that accepts app blocks, can't show app blocks at all. That's a Shopify limit for every app. You can still add a widget with its code:

  1. In the app's Home page, click Show me how, then Older (vintage) theme, or no Apps option?, and click Copy code. This code shows the standard design.
  2. In Shopify admin, open Online Store, then Themes. On your theme, click …, then Edit code.
  3. Open the file for the page where the reviews should go, for example templates/index.liquid for the home page or templates/product.liquid for product pages.
  4. Paste the code where the reviews should appear, then click Save.

If your theme is current but has no Apps option, look for a Custom Liquid section: add it and paste the same code there, no file editing needed. Stuck? Email [email protected] and we'll help.

Plans and the free trial#

The app has one plan, monthly or yearly, and it starts with a free trial. You choose it on Shopify's plan page from the app's Home or Plan page; nothing is charged during the trial, and after it Shopify bills the plan with your Shopify invoice. You can change or cancel it on the Plan page at any time, and removing the app cancels it.

Your reviews import as soon as your plan starts. If your plan ends, your reviews stop showing on your store until you choose a plan again.

We email your store's owner address (the one in your Shopify settings) when your reviews are imported, and 3 days before your free trial ends, as a reminder that your plan then continues and Shopify starts billing it. If your plan ever ends while the app is installed, we let you know too.

Removing the app#

When you remove the app, the reviews block disappears from your store and Shopify cancels your plan. 48 hours later your store's data is deleted. If you reinstall before then, everything is still there.

Already use ReviewPine on our website?#

The Shopify app has its own account and plan. You can also keep using a website widget on Shopify: see Add a review widget to Shopify.
