Widget language and review languages
Set the widget's own labels to English or Hindi, and understand how reviews in other languages and scripts are displayed.
The widget's labels#
Words such as "Based on 132 reviews", "Write a review" and "Load more" can be shown in English or हिन्दी:
- Open the widget in the customiser.
- Go to Language & advanced and choose Widget language.
- Click Save & publish.
The reviews themselves#
Reviews are always shown in the language they were written. A review written in Hindi, Tamil or Marathi appears exactly as the customer wrote it. Right-to-left scripts such as Urdu display in the correct direction automatically.
Dates such as "2 weeks ago" follow the widget language.
Tip for multilingual sites#
Create two widgets, one with English labels and one with Hindi labels, and place each on the matching version of your site.
