Colours, fonts and dark mode

Match the widget to your brand: card and text colours, accent and star colours, your website's own font, and light, dark or automatic themes.

All of these options live in the Style section of the customiser.

Light, dark or automatic#

  • Light and Dark fix the theme.
  • Auto follows each visitor's device setting, so the widget is dark for visitors using dark mode and light for everyone else.

With Auto, choose Editing colours for: Light mode / Dark mode to set separate card, text and border colours for each theme.

Your brand colours#

  • Card background, Review text and Border: pick a swatch or any custom colour.
  • Accent colour is used for buttons and links.
  • Star colour defaults to Google's familiar yellow, and can match your brand.

Tip: Keep strong contrast between the review text and the card background so every visitor can read comfortably.

Fonts#

  • Match my website uses the font your website already has. The widget blends in perfectly and nothing extra is downloaded.
  • System default uses each device's standard font, which is crisp and fast everywhere.
  • Classic fonts such as Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, Trebuchet MS, Georgia, Times New Roman and Palatino are available on nearly every device.

Fonts are never downloaded from other services, which keeps your page fast.

Corners, shadow and spacing#

Use Corners to go from square to round, Card shadow for depth, and Density for tighter or more relaxed spacing.
